Tristan Thompson expected to miss next two preseason games

Cleveland Cavaliers center Tristan Thompson is expected to miss the next two preseason games due to a foot injury.
Tristan Thompson has played in all 82 of the Cleveland Cavaliers games in each of the past four seasons. After sitting out of Tuesday’s preseason opener against the Orlando Magic, he is expected to be held out of the next two preseason games, too, according to ESPN‘s Chris Haynes.
Haynes says that the reasoning is precautionary due to Thompson having a “sore left foot”. Sitting out comes as a surprise due to Thompson’s track record of having good health.
Chris Andersen started in Thompson’s place against the Magic. It also gave valuable time to the floor-spacing, three-point shooter in Channing Frye.
Losing Thompson to an injury certainly hurts the on-court chemistry and cohesion that the preseason games provide, but staying healthy is the most important factor for the Cavs if they want to repeat as NBA Champions.
