Thunderstorms wreak havoc on lights during Clippers-Thunder game

The Oklahoma City Thunder aren't going to be deterred by a little bit of lightning.

Thunderstorms swirled around OKC's Chesapeake Energy Arena during Wednesday night's playoff game between the Thunder and the Los Angeles Clippers.

Apparently, the heavy weather caused a number of the stadium's overhead lights to go dim with less than 30 seconds remaining in the first half:

It wasn't quite a Superdome Super Bowl situation, though, and after a brief delay, the final 27 seconds of the half were completed under whichever lights remained on. (According to TNT analyst Steve Kerr, Clippers guard Chris Paul was lobbying commissioner Adam Silver to let the teams finish out the half.)

Arena officials were able to fix the issue at halftime, and the Thunder went on to win 112-101 and even the series at one game apiece.
