They're bad, they're bad, you know it: Sixers lose by 40-plus again

How badly do you have to be going to lose a game by 43 points and it can be seen as an improvement?

Ladies and gentlemen, your Philadelphia 76ers.

One night after losing by 45 to the Los Angeles Clippers, offering token resistance and shooting .270 from the field, the Sixers fell to the Golden State Warriors on Monday night 123-80. At least this time, the Sixers were a sizzling .367 on field-goal tries, going 33 for 90.

Now for the historical perspective. Philly is only the second NBA team to lose back-to-back games by at least 40 points, according to STATS. The other? The Sixers, in 1994.

The combined 88 points in consecutive defeats ranks third-worst ever. Second-worst were those 1994 Sixers. The all-time record is 95 by ... not the 76ers! That was the Detroit Pistons, in 1966.
