The Warriors set to wear two special patches

The Golden State Warriors will be wearing two special patches on their uniforms.
The Golden State Warriors have the best uniforms in all of basketball. This year, they’ll be adding to their clean look. The Dubs will be wearing two new commemorative patches on their jerseys.
The players, as is custom, were in full uniform at Media Day. They take their media portraits in preparation for the season. Fans got their first look at some new faces in the jerseys, but they also got a first look at what’s on the jerseys.
Under the right shoulder, the Warriors will be sporting a 70th anniversary patch. The Philadelphia Warriors were founded in 1946 in the Basketball Association of America’s inaugural season. Led by Joe Fulks, the team won the championship. This is a patch that was previously seen in screenshots for NBA 2K17.
There is another addition, on the opposite side of the jersey. The Warriors will be sporting a band-like patch under their left shoulder. It’s yellow with a blue “42” in the middle of it.
The patch honors the late Nate Thurmond, who passed away in July at the age of 74. The All-Star center’s number is retired by both the Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers. He was one of the best players in franchise history and his insight will definitely be missed by everyone that knew him.
