The San Antonio Spurs have locked up guard George Hill through at least next season.

The Spurs announced Wednesday they had picked up the fourth-year option on Hill's contract, keeping him signed through the 2011-2012 season. Hill averaged 12.4 points and 3.6 assists last season.

Hill is a favorite of a coach Gregg Popovich and started 43 games in his second year, adding backcourt depth alongside Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili.
