Stephen Curry may have an NBA pedigree, but his journey to superstardom was far from easy.

In the latest NBA 2K16 promo video, Spike Lee narrates Curry's unique path from unheralded high school prospect to NBA MVP and champion.

Many forget that Curry wasn't recruited by most power-conference schools, and even after his magical run at Davidson, faced doubts about his size and point-guard skills once he got to the NBA.

That criticism helped fuel Curry to become the player he is today, and that "underdog triumphs" narrative is what 2K16's "My Player" mode wants to push.
