HAYWARD, Calif. (AP) A small plane crashed on commuter train tracks in the San Francisco Bay Area, killing the pilot and interrupting train service.
Bay Area Rapid Transit spokeswoman Denise Gonzalez says the Cessna aircraft crashed Sunday afternoon near the transit system's transfer tracks in Hayward, east of San Francisco. That ignited a fire and interrupted service hours before Game 7 of the NBA Finals in nearby Oakland.
Gonzalez says no other injuries have been reported. Service is stopped at three stations along a nearly 9-mile section of the Fremont line.
She says the agency will make buses available to transport passengers.
