Shumpert's injury spoils 'Linsane' trick

Knicks guard Iman Shumpert, who pulled out of the Slam Dunk contest because of tendinitis in his knee, admitted to the New York Post he had a "Linsane" trick up his sleeve.

The rookie guard and Jeremy Lin were planning a dunk in which Shumpert would vault over a couch to symbolize Lin's previously humble sleeping conditions.

"He was going to help me out," Shumpert told the Post. "Once my knee was so sore, I started thinking about it: 'Am I going to be able to jump over the couch?' All kinds of things to think about."

Shumpert missed his second straight game Wednesday and is expected return after the All-Star break.

He will be replaced in Saturday night's contest by Utah's Jeremy Evans.

After emerging in spectacular fashion as the Knicks starting point guard, Lin admitted he was crashing on his brother's couch.

The undrafted Harvard star has since upgraded, with the Post reporting this week he was set to rent a furnished condo at the W Hotel in Manhattan's Financial District.
