Pistons sign Lucas for remainder of season

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (AP) The Detroit Pistons have signed guard John Lucas III for the remainder of the season.

Lucas had already signed two 10-day contracts with Detroit this season, giving the Pistons additional depth at point guard after Brandon Jennings went down with an Achilles injury. The 5-foot-11 Lucas has averaged 5.0 points, 3.3 assists and 12.2 minutes in eight games with Detroit.

The Pistons host the New York Knicks on Friday night.
