CHICAGO -- The Bulls will be without center Joakim Noah and forward Doug McDermott for Friday night's game against the Portland Trail Blazers.
Noah will sit out his second straight game with a sprained right ankle, and McDermott will be absent for the fifth consecutive game due to a right knee problem.
Chicago coach Tom Thibodeau said Noah was a ''little bit better'' Friday and that Chicago will ''see where he is'' before it plays Sunday in Miami. The Bulls coach said McDermott would be re-examined Friday.
Noah, the reigning defensive player of the year, also had surgery on his left knee during the offseason. Thibodeau says Noah said the knee is feeling a lot better, but ''the rehab has taken a long time and he's really worked at it.''
