Nik Stauskas expected to miss two weeks with leg injury

Sixers head coach Brett Brown told reporters on Monday that Nik Stauskas will be unavailable for Tuesday's exhibition contest against the Wizards, and that he'll miss a couple of weeks due to a leg injury.

Stauskas is expected to return in time for the games that count in the standings, which begin when Philadelphia visits Boston on Oct. 28 to open the regular season.

“It’s precautionary, but that is a decent amount of time,” Brown said. “We’ll keep him out a few weeks. We’ll move him slowly.”

“It just popped up in training camp and we’re trying to be cautious with it,” Stauskas said. “It’s tough, but I played a lot of basketball this summer and I didn’t take much time off. That’s probably the reason why it happened.”
