Mike Dunleavy's move to Cleveland becomes official

Updated Mar. 4, 2020 8:07 p.m. ET

CLEVELAND (AP) The trade sending Mike Dunleavy from Chicago to Cleveland was approved by the NBA on Thursday night.

Dunleavy will be slotted into the trade exception that Cleveland created earlier Thursday in a trade with Milwaukee. The Bulls are getting the rights to forward Albert Miralles, a 34-year-old from Spain who was drafted by Toronto 12 years ago.

What the Bulls are really getting is cap space that they will use to complete the signing of soon-to-be-former Miami guard Dwyane Wade.

The Cavs are getting a shooter, one that LeBron James has liked for years. Dunleavy has averaged 11.5 points in 14 NBA seasons, and is a career 38 percent shooter from 3-point range.
