DALLAS (AP) The Dallas Mavericks are sending first-round pick Shane Larkin to the NBA Development League for what is likely to be a one-game stint.

The rookie point guard's playing time has dropped significantly since veteran Devin Harris made his debut seven games ago after offseason toe surgery.

Larkin hasn't played in two of the past four games and got just 11 minutes combined in the other two. He is averaging 3.7 points and 1.8 assists per game.

The son of Hall of Fame shortstop Barry Larkin will be available when the Texas Legends play Rio Grande Valley on Saturday night in the Dallas suburb of Frisco.
