LeBron doubtful to play against Bulls

Published Jan. 15, 2011 12:00 a.m. ET

Miami coach Erik Spoelstra says LeBron James is doubtful to play Saturday night against the Bulls because of a sprained left ankle, but hasn't ruled him out yet.

Spoelstra says James did not take part in the Heat's morning shootaround. A determination would be made after the league's MVP receives treatment before the game.

Spoelstra says the decision will be based on whether James can make the ankle worse by playing, and what his comfort level is with the injury.

James was hurt late in the Heat's loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday night and sat out their 130-102 loss at Denver on Thursday.
