New Orleans forward Anthony Davis and Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant are expected to return from recent absences when their teams meet on Wednesday night.

Davis says he remains in pain from a sprained big toe on his left foot, but feels good enough to play after missing three games.

The Pelicans are 1-3 this season without Davis, who averages 24.2 points, 10.4 rebounds and 2.9 blocks per game.

Bryant has missed the Lakers' past two games as coach Byron Scott seeks to give the 36-year-old star extra rest at intermittent periods this season.

Scott says Bryant looks "ready to go" following six days off.

Pelicans starting guard Jrue Holiday, who's missed four straight games with a swollen right ankle, says his chances of playing are "slim."
