Klay Thompson still can't believe the Warriors signed Kevin Durant

Published Jul. 21, 2016 10:57 a.m. ET

There's no other way to put it: Kevin Durant signing with the Golden State Warriors wasn't just the single biggest story of the NBA offseason, but quite possibly the biggest in sports in 2016.

By now the whole concept has been discussed at length, but it really is insane to think back a few weeks, and think about the concept that ... oh my God, KD is really going to Golden State.

And honestly, that's not just me as a fan speaking, but the way plenty of people feel. That includes one of Durant's new star teammates.

That man would be Klay Thompson, who not only will play with Durant in Golden State next season, but is getting to know him better this offseason as a member of Team USA basketball.

Thompson was asked what it's like to know that Durant will be joining he, Steph, Iggy and the rest of the Warriors next season during a radio interview with San Francisco radio station KNBR on Wednesday, and well, he wasn't quite sure what to say.

Or what to believe.

From there Thompson continued to expand on their relationship. Specifically, he was asked about the comment KD made at his introductory press conference, where he admitted that he wasn't even sure whether Klay owned a cell phone.

Apparently, that's just Klay's nature. He even admitted that when he retires, he may very well take the (almost certain) Tim Duncan route, and go off the grid completely.

Overall, the interview which runs roughly 20 minutes was pretty entertaining, as Klay expands on a number of different issues. It can be listened to here, and is worth your time, whether you're a Klay fan or not.
