How the Atlanta Hawks are baffling oddsmakers everywhere

The Atlanta Hawks have had a bit of a rough go since the All-Star break, avoiding a 3-game losing stream with a win against the Milwaukee Bucks on Sunday. But on the season overall, the Hawks have been the most positively suprising team in the NBA. Their 44-12 record through 66 games speaks to the positive part of the surprise. And oddsmakers in both Las Vegas and around the world can tell you just how surprising this team has truly been.

The Hawks have covered 33 times, more than any other team through 46 games in at least a quarter-century, according to the sports odds tracker Covers, whose research dates to the 1990-91 season. The 1994-95 Utah Jazz previously had the high-water mark.
