Hornets' Kidd-Gilchrist sidelined by hamstring injury

Published Feb. 8, 2015 5:05 p.m. ET

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) Hornets coach Steve Clifford says forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist will not play against the Indiana Pacers because of a hamstring injury.

Clifford made the announcement prior to Sunday night's game.

Kidd-Gilchrist was hurt in Charlotte's 89-81 loss at Philadelphia on Saturday night.

Jeffery Taylor will make his first start of the season in place of Kidd-Gilchrist. Taylor was suspended for 24 games earlier this season following his arrest on domestic violence charges.

Clifford said point guard Brian Roberts, who has been bothered by right shoulder soreness, will start.
