The Miami Heat will have their championship parade Monday, and city officials say fans will not be allowed to carry backpacks.
An estimated 400,000 fans packed the same route last season after the Heat won the 2012 title. The parade will be followed by an event at the team's home arena for season-ticket holders.
Several major events have not allowed fans to carry backpacks or bags of a certain size after the Boston Marathon bombings earlier this year, including the Penn Relays and horse racing's Triple Crown races. Earlier this month, the NFL said it would also not allow backpacks in its stadiums this coming season.
Miami won its third NBA championship Thursday night, topping the San Antonio Spurs 95-88 in Game 7 of this year's finals.
