Grieving Griffin will keep All-Star plans

L.A. Clippers rookie Blake Griffin was set to keep up with his packed All-Star Weekend Break schedule Friday, despite mourning the death of a close friend and former high school teammate.
The Los Angeles Times reported that Griffin, 21, would not renege on his appearances in Friday night's rookie-sophomore game, Saturday's slam dunk contest and the All-Star game Sunday.
The rookie power forward's friend Wilson Holloway passed away Wednesday after battling Hodgkin's lymphoma. Griffin was told minutes after the Clippers' 98-90 win over the Timberwolves on Wednesday night.
Despite distraught scenes in the locker room in Minneapolis, Griffin continued with scheduled All-Star appearances Thursday including commercial spots, photo shoots and interviews, including an appearance on ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live."
It was unclear whether Griffin would be able to attend Holloway's funeral Monday, with the Clippers set to travel to Oklahoma City ahead of a game against the Thunder on Tuesday.
