Doc Rivers: 'Maybe I'm being a bad dad'

Published Apr. 20, 2015 2:18 p.m. ET

Doc and Austin Rivers represent the NBA's first father-son coach-player duo, so one might expect that they'd be spending a lot of time together right now preparing for an extended playoff run, that there might be a bonding moment. Doc quickly poured water on that fire.

"I literally have not had a conversation with him from a father and son point of view," he said before Game 1. "I would say I've talked to D.J. and Chris far more than I have talked to Austin over the last four days, so maybe I'm being a bad dad."

So much for nepotism.
