MLive’s Piston beat reporter Aaron McMann goes on to say that in the Pistons’ morning shootaround, there was no sign of injury for Drummond. There’s also no word of severity or a timetable for return.
In Drummond’s absence, Aron Baynes and Boban Marjanovic will be called upon for heavier minutes. Baynes is averaging 15.1 minutes per game and has per-36 averages of 10.7 points and 8.6 rebounds per game. Marjanovic has played a diminished role this season, playing just 18 minutes in four appearances. He has scored 11 points and collected four rebounds thus far.
The Pistons will be without their two best players as point guard Reggie Jackson is sidelined until the beginning of December.
The Pistons will need a concerted team effort on the boards with Drummond on the bench as the Thunder are the fourth-best rebounding team in the NBA with a rebounding percentage of 52.6 percent. Thunder center Steven Adams is averaging 10.7 points and 8.5 rebounds per game, while reserve center Enes Kanter is averaging 12.4 points and 7.1 rebounds per game in just 19 minutes per appearance.
