Could Jamal Murray be the Denver Nuggets version of Trevor Siemian? What does that even mean? Poised, collected, calm- will Murray be like this?
If you are a Denver Nuggets fan, chances are that you have heard about the Denver Broncos starting quarterback, Trevor Siemian. Let me give you some background on Siemian. Siemian was a seventh round pick out of Northwestern last year.
He was a sleeper because of an ACL injury, and he finally got his chance in the first game of the Broncos season. He made mistakes. He is young. But, he was poised and calm, and he led the Broncos to a week one victory over the Panthers.
While his story to being the starter is impressive, could it repeat itself in the basketball world?

A month or so ago, many thought that week one the Denver Broncos would be led by turnover-prone Mark Sanchez. But, that thought soon faded out as during training camp as the staff finally got a clue and benched. He is actually no longer with their team.
While unlikely that something in that magnitude repeats itself in the Mile High City’s basketball team, the Denver Nuggets have their own love story of a kid that may not see much time. And his name is Jamal Murray.
The sharpshooter was drafted by the Denver Nuggets with the number seven overall pick, and unlike Emmanuel Mudiay, he may not see an exaggerated amount of minutes his rookie season.
But, could he impress in training camp and snag a starting start? The chances are drastically against him, but they are against Siemian at the beginning of training camp too.
If Murray is his calm, collected, and sharpshooting self, he may just be able to nab some minutes from the defensive mastermind Gary Harris.
Murray’s best case scenarios is he pulls a Trevor Siemian and is able to a snag a starting role. But, don’t hold your breath on it. Coach Malone did say it was Harris’ to lose.
This training camp will tell us several things about each player, and it should adequately prepare Nuggets fans for the seasons start.
So, tell me fans. Could Jamal Murray be the next Trevor Siemian?
