Chris Bosh’s career with the Miami Heat was full of ups and downs, and he thanked the fans for sticking by him after six years.

The Miami Heat have moved on from Chris Bosh after his most recent failed physical, and the 11-time All Star is seemingly coming to terms with it. On his website, Bosh wrote a heartfelt thank you to his fans of the last six seasons.

“I want to thank not only the fans of Miami but everyone around the world who has supported our team and who has supported me through this time,” Bosh said.

“I want to thank the city of Miami from the bottom of my heart because things may change, but the good times will last forever in my memories. Thank you!” Bosh said.

Bosh also took a moment to talk about the future of the Heat, which is now poised to build around a young core of Justise Winslow, Josh Richardson, Tyler Johnson and Hassan Whiteside.

“Things are different now, and Miami has incredible young talent with a tremendous upside. These are not only talented ball players but great people and friends. I enjoyed playing with those guys and doing my best to mentor them by being an upstanding role model and veteran player. It’s their time to go through the ups and downs of the game with this great city.”

Bosh won two championships with the Miami Heat after signing with the team in 2010 as a part of the Big Three. Bosh went to the Finals in each of his first four seasons, and has made the All-Star team each of his seasons in South Beach. He’s averaged 18 points and 7.3 rebounds, and has developed into one of the best all-around players in the NBA in his six seasons. His resume is stacked, and should be enough to one day land him in the Hall of Fame.

Unfortunately, Bosh has missed the latter part of the last two seasons with recurring blood clot issues. He failed his most recent physical with the team, leading the Heat to say his career with the team is over. It’s unclear if Bosh will play again in the NBA.
