Charlotte Hornets vs Minnesota Timberwolves: Preseason Game 4

The Charlotte Hornets look to bounce back against the Minnesota Timberwolves tonight at the Spectrum Center. The game will be at seven tonight.
After losing their opening three preseason games, the Charlotte Hornets will be looking to bounce back as they take on the Minnesota Timberwolves at home. Steve Clifford’s side has experienced some struggles during their exhibition games but it isn’t time to panic just yet.

Click here, for the full review of last game. The Charlotte Hornets lost their last game bringing their preseason record to 0-3. Nicolas Batum and Marvin Williams got the game off, and Cody Zeller is still nursing his knee injury. The absence of some of the core members of the team gave some of the younger Hornets the chance to make an impression. Unfortunately, Marco Belinelli struggled to separate himself from the other second string wing players.
Those That Mattered:
Christian Wood making a case
Christian Wood was the player that stood out for me. His length is unbelievable. It seemed like he was all over the court gobbling up rebounds and deterring shots. Wood finished with a stat line of 13 points on 50% shooting, seven rebounds and one block. He was also the beneficiary of a Spencer Hawes pass that lead to a rim rocking dunk.
More from Swarm and Sting
Wood is still developing as a player and has certainly earned himself a spot on the Swarm. Hopefully we will see him on the team later in the season. He is like a Deandre-lite. His length gives him the ability to finish around the rim with authority but he still needs to develop his body in order to bang down low in the post.
Frank Kaminsky holding steady
Frank the Tank recorded his first double-double of the preseason this year. Kaminsky continued to show off his foot work in the post and showed some playmaking ability out of the high post. He finished the game with 10 points on 29.4% shooting, 12 rebounds, and four assist.
He was inefficient last game, but it was clear that Coach Clifford gave hime the green light. Expect his efficiency to increase as he settles back into his back-up big man role.
Matchup to Watch
Zach Lavine highlights on the new scoreboard
This is the first game that the Charlotte Hornets are playing at home. What better way to christen the new scoreboard than with Zach Lavine’s and Andrew Wiggins’ highlight level athleticism. Make sure to get there early if you are going to the game. The Timberwolves like to hold a dunk contest in their warm up lines. Who nows, maybe you will even get to see an in-game 360 like last time.
