Celtics reportedly seek Rondo trade

Published Mar. 1, 2012 12:00 a.m. ET

Rajon Rondo grabbed his 16th career triple-double against the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday night, but it may well be his last in a Boston Celtics jersey if the team's front office can do a deal.

The Celtics are "aggressively trying to trade" him after growing tired of his attitude off the court, which has seen him clash with coach Doc Rivers, ESPN reported Thursday, citing sources.

An NBA source confirmed to the Boston Globe that Rondo was being discussed in potential deals, but denied he was being deliberately dumped.

Rondo's name frequently has been mentioned in trade rumors this season, which has been troubling at times for the 26-year-old point guard.

He was suspended two games for throwing the ball at an official and earlier missed eight games of the lockout-truncated schedule with a sprained wrist.

Rondo's starring performance Wednesday, which saw him post 15 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists, came a night after he went scoreless against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
