Celtics' David Lee organizes a players-only dinner in Milan

David Lee understands how important good chemistry can be for a basketball team. Last season, he and Andre Iguodala sacrificed their spot in the starting lineup so that the Golden State Warriors could find their best self.

It worked. The Warriors won the title, and Lee showed off some good nature by delivering a large batch of burritos to Golden State's entire staff.

Now with the Boston Celtics, Lee hopes to unlock the same sort of camaraderie, so he organized a players-only dinner on the team's first night in Italy, per the Boston Herald:

Maybe more so than his ability to make plays out of the pick-and-roll, Lee's veteran leadership is extremely valuable on Boston's young roster. He's almost like another coach, someone who youngsters can go to with their problems, or if they have any questions about a league they're unfamiliar with.

He's a tremendous asset, if only for one season.

The power forward invited all his teammates out to “Il Tavolino” — a nice restaurant not far from the team hotel — for a players-only dinner in their very first night in Milan. “It’s the nice part of a trip like this,” said the former Warrior. “Nobody brought their families or friends, it’s just us over here, so little things like this one are very important as a way to come together as a team.”
