Carmelo Anthony released another video from A Very Melo Weekend 2016 in Puerto Rico. This time around, it was a youth basketball game.

Carmelo Anthony’s philanthropy has been one of the hottest topics of the 2016-17 NBA offseason. Between his social activism and the revelations of his contributions to the improvement of inner city environments, Anthony has been the talk of many towns.

Following his record third Olympic gold medal, Anthony traveled to Puerto Rico with seven of his New York Knicks teammates for a fundraising event.

A Very Melo Weekend 2016 has enabled Anthony to raise money through The Carmelo Anthony Foundation. There was a golfing event and a dinner that was attended by eight Knicks players.

Anthony released the latest video from A Very Melo Weekend 2016: a youth basketball game.

That must have been an unforgettable experience for those in attendance.

The Carmelo Anthony Foundation was set up with the intention of helping underprivileged communities. That isn’t limited to American soil, as Anthony’s foundation helped build the basketball court that this event was held on.

The intention was to keep kids off of the streets and out of a life of crime by giving them an alternative activity.

Anthony and the Knicks are preparing for one of the most significant seasons in franchise history. New York hasn’t made the playoffs since 2012-13, Anthony is 32 years of age, and Phil Jackson is entering his third season as team president.

If the Knicks can’t get things together in 2016-17, it stands to reason that significant changes will be made.

The weekend in Puerto Rico should be beneficial to all parties involved. The Knicks have already begun to build team chemistry, but more importantly, they’ve helped change lives.

Anthony is a man worth admiring and respecting for his work in the global community.

He’s a true philanthropist and a leader for the modern era.
