It won't be for quite some time, but Zach Wheeler now has a target to aim for in his return to the New York Mets from Tommy John surgery.

According to NJ.com, Wheeler is hoping to be pitching for the Mets again by next summer, around June or July of 2016.

"I really don't want to put any timetable on it but probably somewhere around that," the 25-year-old righty said.

In the meantime, Wheeler is rehabbing in Florida, and is set to resume throwing next month.

Wheeler, who holds an 18-16 record with a 3.50 ERA and 271 strikeouts in 285 1/3 innings pitched in his two-year MLB career, has been sidelined the entire season for the Mets.

"It's slow," Wheeler said of the rehab process. "But I start throwing next month, so that's something to look forward to. Hopefully that speeds up the process a little bit."
