Recent New York Yankees news is about a few more players being added to the September call-ups. Who will be joining the Yankees for their playoff push?

The New York Yankees are fighting hard to make the playoffs this season despite being sellers at the trade deadline. Young players have come up and had success in the Bronx, and two more will be joining them.

The two most recent players to be added to the team are pitchers, Bryan Mitchell and James Pazos. The addition of Mitchell could be significant for the Yankees, as he was projected to make the Opening Day roster prior to breaking his toe.

While Mitchell could be here to be used as a starter, Pazos will be joining the bullpen. The left-hander has totaled a 2-2 record and 2.32 ERA in the minors this season. Pazos should be a nice weapon for the Yankees to use in the bullpen, as a left-hander with 47 strikeouts in 31 innings.

Injuries to the rotation have left the Yankees scrambling to find arms as they attempt to make the playoffs. Mitchell will likely be given a shot in the starting rotation like they have done recently with Luis Cessa.

The toe injury has really set Mitchell back this season, as he has only appeared in six games in the minor leagues. His results haven’t been outstanding, as he has a 0-1 record and 4.29 ERA. Mitchell has the opportunity to stay for a while if he finds success with the Yankees, as they certainly like his flexibility.
