Will Tigers add another outfielder after trading for Maybin?

The Tigers' outfield could already be set for opening day.

After the recent acquisition of Cameron Maybin, Detroit GM Al Avila said he doesn't see the team adding another outfielder.

"Sitting here today, I don't have anything," Avila recently told MLive. "So, it's doubtful."

The Tigers acquired former first-rounder Maybin on Nov. 20 from the Atlanta Braves in exchange for left-handed reliever Ian Krol and left-handed pitching prospect Gabe Speier.

Avila feels that Maybin, a right-handed hitter who can play both center and left field, gives the Tigers some flexibility.

"I know he's played mostly center, but we feel he can play left if we wanted him to," Avila said. "Really, that's going to be a decision up to Brad and his staff once we get going (to see) how he fits best."

Maybin is coming off one of his best seasons, where he batted .267 with 10 home runs, 59 RBI and 23 stolen bases.

Detroit now has four outfielders under contract, including Maybin, J.D. Martinez, Anthony Gose and Tyler Collins.
