Watch: Hanley Ramirez's walk-off homer gives Red Sox win over Yankees
Hanley Ramirez was the hero for Boston on Thursday night, giving the Red Sox a 7–5 win over the Yankees with a three-run shot in the bottom of the ninth inning.
The Red Sox clawed back after trailing 5–0 earlier in the game, with the Yankees turning to an overworked Dellin Betances in the ninth inning. The dominant closer had worked each of the last two games, and struggled with his control immediately upon relieving Blake Parker (who had just hit Chris Young with a pitch) with one out.
It was a total Yankee meltdown, including a pair of fielder’s indifferences, a passed ball, singles from David Ortiz and Mookie Betts, and Ramirez’s monster shot to cap it off.
.@HanleyRamirez, that’s just as clutch as it gets. Unreal. #LloveTheGame pic.twitter.com/s6bsl8Z5lE
