Wada's next start in doubt

Published Jun. 25, 2015 12:35 a.m. ET

After leaving his last start with shoulder soreness, it appears Tsuyoshi Wada's next start may be in jeopardy as well.

“There’s still some soreness right there,” Cubs manager Joe Maddon told the Chicago Sun-Times. “We’re not prepared yet to say yes or no on the next start. We’re going to wait probably just a little while longer to evaluate all that. From what I was told it was better, but we want to be very certain about that.”

If Wada is unable to make the start, the Cubs could promote Don Roach from Triple-A, use Travis Wood or Edwin Jackson from the bullpen or go a different route all together.
