Travis d'Arnaud cleared to swing, return date still uncertain

New York Mets catcher Travis d'Arnaud is making progress in his return to the team after breaking a bone in his right hand.

Manager Terry Collins said Monday that d'Arnaud has been cleared to swing a bat after X-rays revealed that his broken bone has healed.

"Tomorrow, he'll probably do some more dry work, then some tee work, if everything is OK there, he'll do some soft tosses so he can get used to the shock of the ball," Collins said.

Collins didn't offer a timetable for d'Arnaud's return.
