The Baltimore Orioles have agreed to a two-year, $10 million contract with free-agent reliever Kevin Gregg, major-league sources told FOXSports.com.

The deal, which is pending a physical, includes a club option for 2013, which could vest if the right-hander reaches certain performance thresholds.

Gregg is coming off a season in which he saved a career-high 37 games for the Toronto Blue Jays, while maintaining a 3.51 ERA. He will likely be given opportunities to close for the Orioles.

Alfredo Simon, who led Baltimore last year with 17 saves, surrendered to police in the Dominican Republic this week on a charge of involuntary manslaughter.

The Orioles previously re-signed Koji Uehara, the team’s closer over the final six weeks of the 2010 season.
