Sammy Sosa, is that you?

The Twilight Saga ran its course, and 'True Blood' is pretty cemented with its characters. But for whoever comes up with the next vampire film or series idea looking for a strong male lead, it looks like a disgraced former MLB slugger is looking for you.

Sammy Sosa appeared on television in Panama the other day, and a disturbing photo with who appears to be Panamanian TV personality Nairobi Dacosta showing his otherworldly appearance made its way to the masses via Twitter. Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports gave voice to what must be a common reaction.

So we did a little digging on this. The man who hit more than 60 home runs multiple times before exiting the game under one of the Steroid Era's darkest clouds isn't really trying to become a vampire . . . is he?

Well, you tell us, if you believe this tweet.

And he hangs out with other strange creatures.

If he is pining for a vampire role, he's already building a following.

And like Edward, he has his Bella.

Ultimately, it's hard to disagree that Sosa looks less like a former 60-plus-homer slugger than someone who can't be out in sunlight. And given the steroid rumors that dogged Sosa, maybe these photos can serve as something of a warning to any young player tempted to try performance-enhancing drugs.

Remember, he used to look like this.
