TAMPA, Fla.

New York Yankees left-hander CC Sabathia has thrown two innings in his first simulated game since going on the disabled list in May with a knee injury.

Sabathia says he had ''no issues'' during his 34-pitch outing Tuesday at the Yankees' minor league complex. He's scheduled to pitch in a rookie-level Gulf Coast League game on Saturday.

The Yankees placed Sabathia on the 15-day DL May 11 because of inflammation in his right knee.

Sabathia is 3-4 with a 5.28 ERA this season, with opponents hitting .301 off him.

New York is also missing two other injured starters - Ivan Nova (season-ending elbow surgery) and Michael Pineda (right shoulder muscle).
