Colorado Rockies manager Walt Weiss will return next season, FOX Sports Insider Ken Rosenthal reported Tuesday.

After a last-place finish in the NL West with a 68-94 record this season, there was speculation that that Rockies would make a change.

After meeting with Rockies GM Jeff Bridich on Tuesday, Weiss said he will return to the dugout next season.

Bridich told The Associated Press that he and Walt "met for several hours today about the season and how we can get better with him back in 2016. It's going well and we will continue to meet."

In three seasons with the Rockies, Weiss has a 208-278 record.

Weiss joins the Boston Red Sox's John Farrell, Detroit Tigers' Brad Ausmus, Chicago White Sox's Robin Ventura and Cincinnati Reds' Bryan Price as managers whose futures were uncertain but who will return to their teams in 2016. However, the Washington Nationals' Matt Williams was relieved of his duties, and Miami Marlins manager Dan Jennings will leave the dugout and return to his GM role. San Diego Padres interim manager Pat Murphy also will not return.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
