The New York Mets are hoping to have injured third baseman David Wright back on the field as soon as possible, but they're reportedly covered in the event he's not able to return to the diamond for an extended period of time.
According to FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal, if Wright misses more than 60 days, the Mets will recoup 75 percent of the contracted amount he's owed while he's sidelined.
Sources: #Mets insured Wright contract. Once he misses 60 days, team would recoup 75 percent of contract while he is unable to play.

Obviously, #Mets hoping that Wright will not miss a significant amount of time. But if he is out more than 60 days, they are insured.
