Red Sox activate OF Sweeney from concussion DL

The Red Sox activated outfielder Ryan Sweeney from the seven-day concussion disabled list and optioned outfielder Che-Hsuan Lin to Triple-A Pawtucket.

Sweeney started Monday's game against the Detroit Tigers in center field.

Sweeney was injured on May 19 making a diving catch in Philadelphia. He is batting.311 in 34 games with the Red Sox this season.

Lin appeared in five games with Boston in his second stint in the majors.
