Pirates' Harrison upbeat despite injury

Josh Harrison would much rather be playing third base and helping his team on the field, but despite the circumstances, Harrison is keeping an upbeat attitude.

“It hasn't been as tough as people think,” Harrison told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. “I always look at it as it could've been worse. … There are some guys that have had Tommy John and are out a year and a half. There's really no need for me to get bent out of shape, when I have an opportunity to come back this year and help make a playoff push.”

Harrison, who recently had surgery on his left thumb, is expected to miss roughly two months, but he isn't quite sure how the whole rehab process will go.

“My biggest thing was, let's get it taken care of so I can get back as early as possible,” Harrison said. “As soon as I get (the cast) off, I'll have a better understanding of how soon (rehab begins). But until then, I've got to wear this thing. It's already driving me crazy, but there's somebody that's got it worse than me.”
