Pirates claim LHP Garrett Olson off waivers

The Pittsburgh Pirates have claimed left-hander Garrett Olson off waivers from the Seattle Mariners.

Olson was 0-3 with one save and a 4.54 ERA while making a career-high 35 appearances with the Mariners last season.

To make room for Olson on the 40-man roster, the Pirates placed right-hander Kevin Hart on the 60-day disabled list while he recovers from right shoulder surgery.

Olson had a 5.40 ERA in five appearances for the Mariners in spring training this year.
