MILWAUKEE (AP) The Pittsburgh Pirates have selected the contract Pedro Florimon from the minors, bringing the infielder back for another tour in the big leagues this season.
Florimon hit .105 with no homers and an RBI in 15 games in Pittsburgh. He was outrighted Aug. 25 to Triple-A Indianapolis, playing three games.
Florimon was then assigned to the Pirates' rookie league team in Bristol but never played a game there.
To make room on the 40-man roster for Florimon, the Pirates transferred right-handed pitcher Deolis Guerra from the 15- to the 60-day disabled list. Guerra has been sidelined by left knee inflammation.
