Phillies say Domonic Brown still not ready to be called up

Domonic Brown could eventually provide a spark for the struggling Philadelphia Phillies, but the organization has kept him in the minors for the entirety of the 2015 season thus far after he sustained an injury in spring training.
However, Brown is now healthy, but his production has been lacking and the Phillies haven't been inspired to bring him up to the majors.
"I think he's playing pretty well. He's not ready yet to be back in the big leagues for us," general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. said. "When he is, we'll bring him."
The Phillies are now over a quarter of the way through the season and Brown has yet to join the team.
Amaro sheds some light on why the Phillies have left in the minors despite his promising past with the club.
"With Domonic it's really about if he's ready to be our everyday right fielder, and right now we don't see it that way," Amaro said. "He may feel differently, and that's fine and he should. That's the nature of being an athlete and someone who's participated and played well here at the major-league level. I think at some point he will be. I think he's making progress. It's just a matter of dotting some I's and crossing some T's as far as his continued work down there."
"I certainly hope so," he added when asked if he thinks Brown will be called up this year. "I hope so, as soon as possible. But right now, we don't feel like he's ready to be here yet."
