The San Diego Padres activated second baseman Orlando Hudson and optioned Logan Forsythe back to Triple-A Tucson before Sunday's game against the Minnesota Twins.

Hudson, who spent last season with the Twins, was hitting .217 before missing the last 22 games with a left groin strain. He was hitting seventh in the Padres lineup Sunday.

Forsythe was hitting .167 as Hudson's replacement.
