Nick Swisher ends season early after birth of child

Nick Swisher will not be returning to the New York Yankees in 2016 after announcing Saturday that he's decided to sit out the rest of the year following the birth of his second child.

Swisher, who started the season with the Atlanta Braves but was released just a few days before Spring Training ended, signed a deal with the Yankees and had been playing in Triple-A with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
