New York Yankees call Alex Rodriguez press conference for Sunday

The New York Yankees announced a press conference for 11 a.m. ET on Sunday with Alex Rodriguez, manager Joe Girardi and GM Brian Cashman.
No reason for the press conference was given, but there is growing speculation that Rodriguez could be announcing the end of his MLB career.

A-Rod's future with the Yankees has been a primary topic of conversation since the club decided to rebuild at the trade deadline and the 41-year-old was relegated to the bench.
Rodriguez has had only one at-bat so far in August and has another year at $21 million remaining on his contract after 2016.
