Nationals' Williams talked to Bryce Harper about not running out fly ball

Washington Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper is known for his passionate and energetic play, but sometimes the young star gets frustrated and doesn't run out a ball put in play, which manager Matt Williams reminded Harper he doesn't approve of in the slightest.
In the Nationals' game on Tuesday, Harper was thrust under the spotlight after he failed to run out a fly ball he hit to left field in the third inning.
Williams, who benched Harper last season for not running out a groundball to the pitcher, pulled the 22-year-old outfielder aside after the game to stress the importance of giving full effort all the time.
"It's important for him to be passionate about the way he plays, in every aspect," Williams said Wednesday. "We talked about it today. Everybody's got comments, so he'll be out there again today. And guaranteed if he hits one in the gap, he'll go hard."
Williams opted not to bench Harper for Thursday's game, and he went 1 for 3 with a walk.
