Nationals option OF Maxwell to Triple-A Syracuse

Outfielder Justin Maxwell has been optioned back to Triple-A Syracuse by the Washington Nationals.

The Nationals announced the move after Friday night's 5-3 victory at the San Diego Padres.

Maxwell is hitting .121, with four hits in 33 at-bats over 21 games with Washington this season.
