Mets teammates create Instagram account dedicated to Lucas Duda's daily life
Lucas Duda is such a hit in the New York Mets clubhouse that his teammates created an Instagram account dedicated to the first baseman.
Curtis Granderson, John Mayberry Jr., and Danny Muno came up with the idea to create Duda an Instagram account, and began posting behind-the-scenes photos of him around the clubhouse and facilities.
The account has garnered 16,000 followers in two days.
"We were just sitting there, talking, laughing. Figured it would be kind of fun to get Duda an Instagram," Mayberry said, per Newsday. "Next thing you know, we've taken a couple of paparazzi photos."
So far the trio have posted a variety of photos of Duda, from him getting ready for a game, to holding a bouquet of flowers, to drinking a cup of coffee with a teammate.
"I've seen it," Duda said. "I'm like a hippopotamus. They try to catch me in the wild when I'm doing stuff. I get dressed. I eat food. I walk to my car. Yeah, that's stuff I usually do on a daily basis."
While fans have been enjoying the posts, Granderson, Mayberry, and Muno have been getting a kick out of it.
"I guess we were just kind of bored. Wanted something to do," Muno said. "We're just having fun with it."
